Evelyn has been really really excited about the potty lately. Anytime Avery says she needs to go to the bathroom Evelyn’s ears perk up and she yells “pa-yee! pa-yee too!” So we’ve started potty training. We’re pretty sporadic about it because life has been a little crazy and I’m just not willing to deal with accidents away from home, but she LOVES the potty. We got her some training pants (” g go nts” for “big girl pants”) and a little potty seat to go on the big toilet. She sits on the potty and points out all the pictures of Elmo on the seat. So far she pees really well on the potty, but isn’t really warning me when she needs to go.
She’s getting very interactive. She follows people around with her sunglasses on and stares at them and makes funny noises until they look at her and say “Oh, pretty!” Then she repeats “Pippy!” She also likes to brush her hair and ask for hairclips and say “Pippy!” when you put one in her hair.
Evelyn’s my little helper. I am not allowed to do laundry by myself. She inserts herself into the process saying “elp you!” She also wants to help with anything in the kitchen and scoots stools around the whole kitchen so she can be up high and see what’s going on. It’s kind of a good system, except that the stools are really really noisy as she drags them across the floor.
She’s also gotten a few more teeth the last month or so. She now has two canine teeth and two working really hard to come in. She’s been pretty cranky about that the last week or so.
Another of Evelyn’s favorite things lately is signing time. Since Avery was so excited about it a couple months ago I decided to check the library here and see if they had discs we could check out and sure enough! They had a couple. So we checked them out and Evelyn is totally hooked. She comes to me and signs baby and says “baby! otch!” which means “I want to watch baby signing time.” It’s pretty cute. She’s added “time” in there lately too, so it’s kind of morphed to “baby om! otch!” She’s pretty cute.
